Philosophy

Our menus change frequently because our chefs are constantly inspired by what is in season – choosing ingredients when they are at their absolute peak of flavour. Where possible we opt for locally reared meat and locally grown or foraged produce as we have so many wonderful producers on our doorstep. We design each dish to emphasise the essential flavours of these wonderful ingredients and our approach is to cook with elegance and precision.

Menus

Eating at The Star is all about special extra touches. At the bar you will find our own roasted nuts. For lunch we offer a concise light lunch that is a taste of everything that is perfect to eat right now with beautiful British classics.

For dinner there is a full À la Carte menu showcasing the inventiveness of our executive chef Peter Eaton. It is full of seasonal treats and special dishes with a real sense of occasion.

Our sister restaurant The Woodspeen is renowned for its level of service, and at The Star our approach is no different. Great food and good service !

Peter Eaton

Food at the The Star Inn is made under the direction of award winning chef Peter Eaton.

He has been responsible for retaining one Michelin star at The Woodspeen from 2014 to 2023 and 3 AA rosettes since 2018. Prior to that Peter has cooked at the highest level in some of Britain’s best kitchens including Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and The Vineyard at Stockcross.
